Film, TV & Drone Work

The You & Sea team and boats have been involved in several large film projects over the last few years, both behind and in front of the cameras. These include ‘The Vanishing’ 2018, starring Gerard Butler and Peter Mullan, ‘Mary Queen of Scots’ 2018, starring Saoirse Ronan and Margot Robbie, and ‘Annika’ a six part TV series launched on Alibi Channel in 2021, starring Nicola Walker and Jamie Sives.

Annika was filmed on the Gareloch and the Clyde River and estuary in 2020/2021. Both Mustang and Orc featured as police boats, with both boats rigged out in police decals, and You & Sea staff standing in as occasional body doubles, while Millbrook and also Orca worked hard behind the scenes, transporting & sheltering film crews, cameras and actors. Our boat can be hired for corporate events. We can accommodate up to twelve people either inside or out. We are happy to tailor the day however you would like.

Why not visit beautiful Tarbert for lunch? Or visit Portavadie Marina and make use of their spa and swimming pool? Or a historical trip up the River Clyde? Or travel to Rothesay and visit stunning Mount Stuart, a nineteenth century mansion with extravagant interiors and expansive gardens – the ancestral home of the Marquesses of Bute. Celebrations/Family Days

If you have a special event that you’d like to celebrate by spending some time on the water, do contact us to discuss what you are looking for. We are always happy to arrange special trips, and can provide food, drink, wine, prosecco as required, to help make your special day out as enjoyable as possible.

Swimming/Paddleboarding

Gather a group together and let us take you off on a day trip. We can whisk you to some beautiful location or area you might not otherwise have the opportunity to visit, to swim or paddleboard, and we will be waiting ready to bring you home in comfort. This could be a wonderful idea if you are looking for a birthday outing with a difference.

We can advise on wind, tide and current and accompany you to a different location from the drop off point if you wish to maximise these to your advantage. Contact us to discuss your thoughts and ideas, or for suggested destinations.

Dive Trips

Contrary to popular belief, diving in Scotland has a lot to offer with a whole host of wrecks, cold-water reefs and wildlife galore. There truly is something for everyone.

Dive sites such as the famous Conger Alley, A-Frames and the Sugarboat can be easily reached in a half-day excursion, or charter the boat for the full day to enjoy hours of exploration.

Jola Too is fitted with a dive lift for exiting the water and the spacious enclosed cabin allows those photography enthusiasts to set up their rig in comfort. We have tea & coffee available on board.

We can take up to 6 divers and there will be a skipper and crew member onboard at all times to assist. Aneesh, our boat trip co-ordinator, is a qualified diving instructor. Price is dependent on location distance and time, but as a rough guide, a half day trip to the Sugar Boat would be around £480 in total.

Survey Boat/Mark Laying

Our Boat, Jola too, is stable and powerful, with a partially covered aft deck which is wide and spacious, with ample room inside and out to lay out equipment or to operate from. The seating on the aft deck can also be removed if more space is required.

Scattering of Ashes

We are aware that this can often be a very difficult time for families, and we take particular pride in handling this situation with sensitivity and compassion. Our boat, Jola Too, is ideal for the purpose, being both spacious and stable, with a wide partially covered aft deck. We can take up to 12 people, with seating outside, or inside if the weather is inclement, and tea/coffee provided. Watch the video of our boat to see the layout in detail. We can easily tailor the length and destination of the trip to meet your specific requirements, but as an example, a one hour round trip costs £180. Contact us either by phone or email to discuss.

To a Destination to Suit You

All day private hire trips can go to various other destinations, such as Kyles of Bute, Tighnabruaich, Largs, Millport, Lochgoilhead.

All day trips can also go to Tarbert, Portavadie, Lochranza or Otter Ferry, for an additional diesel charge of +£150.

It is possible to hire our boat privately for less than a whole day, or to hire the whole boat privately for any of our other published boat trips.
